systems worldwide. Dr. Shalakhti, a pioneer in cardiac population health solutions, holds a
M.S. in Cardiovascular from UCSF, a post graduate diploma in Clinical trial Administrator
from UCSD, and a Doctor of Science in Global Health Management and Policy from
Tulane University. He went on to qualify as a Cardiac Clinical Specialist and Healthcare
Lean-Six Sigma Leader. Dr. Shalakhti works as an independent global health consultant
based in San Diego, CA. He supports clients in over 10 countries with a broad range of
services, from establishment of international center of excellence, training and education
programs, population health and service lines development, and healthcare delivery
system planning and development.

Dr. Shalakhti has worked with large for-profit and non-profit health systems and world
renowned academic medical centers over the last two decades to successfully advance
cardiac population health initiatives. Dr. Shalakhti was appointed System Vice President
for Cardiology for Bon Secours Virginia Health System (a nine hospital health system) in
Feb 2014. He previously served as CEO of Arizona Heart Hospital and he established the
Abrazo Cardiovascular Network across six Vanguard hospitals in Arizona market. During
this time, Dr. Shalakhti has a successful track record in leading start-ups and turning
around different clinical programs, departments, and institutes to successfully meet
financial, growth, and quality targets.
